Petula Clark is right up there with the immortal Dusty Springfield.

A beautiful woman with a beautiful voice.

Agreed. I still play a CD of her best in my car stereo at times.

The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles
Forget all your cares
And go downtown
Downtown

She became close friends with Karen Carpenter and sang at her funeral.

She has lost a lot less than many younger singers. To my ear (saw her singing live on Sullivan the other day) the supple-ness that allowed her to slightly bend notes is gone. The basic voice and tone are still there

Petula Clark sits in a very roomy BOAC in this very nice advertising about Heathrow airport.

A British songwriter and producer named Tony Hatch wrote this. During the ‘60s, he wrote most of Clark’s material, including her follow-up hit “I Know a Place” (which also dealt with city life). Hatch was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013.

It's the radial age, a rip off of A Sign Of The Times by Petula Clark.

Cut Copy Me, came out in 2016 I believe, first time I heard it was in Australia, never in America, and you have to special order the CD. It’s my favorite other than Don’t sleep in the subway.

The bus that shows up at :10 in the vid is like the ones in my Matchbox collection

I look for things like that whenever I see old footage from the UK. :)

Oh gosh, I love her and all her songs. She was so unique.......I was just singing “Don’t Sleep In The Subway” in the kitchen the other day. She’s eternal and I never tire of her music........thanks for posting this.
