Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin will be fired following the Aggies' regular-season finale at LSU on Saturday night, multiple people with knowledge of the situation said. Sumlin is expected to be dismissed in the day or days following the A&M game against the Tigers. The Aggies are a double-digit underdog to the Tigers, and an A&M victory wouldn't save his job at this point, the sources said.

It used to be that Texas A&M had to beat Texas for the coach to survive. Now they gave win 10 games a season.

For a guy who got his big extension because of Manziel’s impact and success he could never duplicate that. Plus his defences stunk. A Manziel led offence could have led Tam to the championship except Sumlin did nothing to fix a terrible defence.

He may be a good coach, but the Aggies aren't spending $5 million a year for a "good coach".

Heh, look at Harbaugh's $9M/per @ Michigan. 3 years in and he has no QB, bad o'line, ave. defense, can't beat teams above .500, can't beat his rivals. UofM road Rich Rod and Brady Hoke out on a rail for that kind of performance. After yet another OSU drubbing, then having a bunch of tough opponents on the road next season...patience may run out and it could get real ugly in Ann Arbor.

That said, yesterday read UofM is looking to give him a "lifetime" deal...'course also rumors he's heading back to the NFL.

Exactly. Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. UCLA won’t hire Sumlin.

That's called PROGRESS. Expectations of 10 win seasons in the SEC West trumps any games to be played with the University of Texas at Austin. #sointhepast

UCLA needs to hire the coach from Memphis, a team that beat them in week 2.

Rumor is Nebraska may go after Mike Leech. Nebraska’s new AD was at WSU and brought Leech in.

It's going to be Scott Frost. He will get a long term contract. Money is no concern. They will pay it.

Another slam dunk is Jimbo Fisher to A&M.

Mizzou isn’t that lowly now. I’d like to see what they’d do against Georgia now.

Mora was fired from the Atlanta Falcons and University of Washington previously.

Other than one year as a graduate assistant, the younger Jim Mora never coached at Washington. There was for a time, mutual interest but the HC openings and his availability never aligned, fortunately for the Huskies.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts...

The way Mizzou is playing now SCar, UK, and Georgia games all would likely have much different outcomes.

HCBO fired his useless DC, and benched some upperclassmen that were having some lingering BLM protestor bad attitudes.

It’s starting to look like Odom might be a decent coach after all.

Take care of woopigsooey on Friday then go bowling...

Kiffen wont go anywhere to a higher paying job in CFB as his ex would get half. He’s at FAU as a middle finger to her.

Isn’t there a rumor that Sumlins’ wife is behind some sort of race hoax?

Texas A & M alumni and fans have the most distorted view of their football team than any other university in the country. Reality vs. expectations are NOT in sync.

They always been an average sometimes above average football team who can pull off an upset every now and then, but the will never be in the national playoff run. Will somebody please tell there fans and alumni this?

Texas Tech and Texas A & M are in the same boat. And there is nothing wrong with that.

You are NOT Texas and you are NOT Alabama or Ohio St. Stop pretending to be so.

Aggie fans are great but their expectations of what TAMU should be is as oversized as their state. From 1957 to 1987 the Aggies finished as a Top 10 team three times. Since 1994 only the Johnny Football Heisman year has the Aggies finished in the Top 10.

I know I’m in the minority here, but Mike Leach is a mistake hire for any big time program.

Yes, he is a great X’s and O’s guy. But when things go bad, and they always do, he is a blame everybody else kind of coach.

He blames players, other coaches, opposing teams, opposing teams coaches, referees and even fat girlfriends for the losses.

It is NEVER his fault.

You can’t have a leader like that and expect greatness.
