Fox News host Jeanine Pirro ranted about ‘law and order’ night before 119 mph speeding charge

Judge Jeanine Pirro is all about "law and order" until the pedal hits the metal.

The night before being ticketed for excessive speeding on an upstate New York roadway, the Fox News host ranted about the importance of "the law each and every one of us must follow."

"I say law and order and truth and justice are the very foundations of this Republic," Pirro proclaimed during her namesake show Saturday night as part of a long tirade about a widely debunked conspiracy theory that Hillary Clinton sold uranium to Russia.

Less than 24 hours later, Pirro was pulled over by state troopers in the Town of Nichols after she was clocked driving 119 mph in a 65 mph zone.

Cops slammed her with a ticket for excessive speeding, a police spokesman confirmed. It was not immediately known what type of car Pirro was driving or whether she had any passengers.

Pirro has to return the ticket by mail or in person by Jan. 8.

The 66-year-old TV judge said she was en route to see her sick mother when cops pulled her over.

"I had been driving for hours to visit my ailing 89-year-old mom and didn't realize how fast I was driving," Pirro said in a statement circulated by Fox News. "I believe in the rule of law and I will pay the consequences."

A conviction of driving more than 40 mph above the speed limit could result in suspension of the driver's license, according to the DMV website. The driver can also be ordered to pay a Driver Responsibility Assessment for three years.

It was not immediately clear what consequences Pirro is facing but a State Police spokesman said she was only hit with a speeding charge.

They recently had a case in NY where a woman was speeding, and when pulled over she insisted she had to get to the hospital (some BS story about her mother, I believe). The cop agrees to escort her, and on the way she calls in a fake 911 call from her car to send the cop elsewhere (made up a story of a domestic dispute with a gun). Got caught afterwards; I assume she’ll do time.

In many states anything over 85mph is automatically “reckless”.

Oh, for Pete's sake. She's always ranting about law and order. In a good way.

Go, granny, go!

(I know, I know. She’s not from Pasadena. And she may not even be a granny. Yet.)

On a similar thread, someone said driving over 85 in AZ was a felony. I find that hard to believe. I can see a misdemeanor and a permanent record. I guess it is know before you go..

Saw that on “Live PD”. AZ trooper pulled a guy over and told him over 85 was a felony.

Did some snooping around. It is a class 3 misdemeanor unless you get busted with other charges like DUI..

At least she drives herself around.

My first question was, "what was she driving?".

“In many states anything over 85mph is automatically “reckless”.”

Not in my state, Montana.

Heck, not too far from where I live is a school zone where you are required to slow to 55 MPH when the lights are flashing.

Holy crap. Sounds like Judge Jeannie is living the dream.

Once in the late eighties, I did a top-speed test of my ‘86 Honda Prelude on a flat, wide-open stretch of rural Minnesota highway in the middle of the day. The speedometer said 123 MPH, which I figured to be 117, and there wasn’t another soul in sight during the whole episode.

Now thirty years wiser, while I’m sure it’d be fun to go to 140 and beyond, ever since Montana abolished their “reasonable and prudent” speed limit, I can’t imagine finding myself in the right situation to do so.
