An Indian medical student has been crowned Miss World following a glamorous event in China today, making her country the joint-most successful nation in the pageant's history along with Venezuela.

Manushi Chhillar became India's sixth winner of the prestigious beauty show, following in the footsteps of successful Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai.

Chhillar's win means that India and Venezuela have both won the competition a record six times each over the course of its 67 year history.

The 20-year-old beauty winner is a trained Indian classical dancer who enjoys painting. The Miss World website also says that she hopes to open a chain of non-profit hospitals in rural areas.

Well, at least it’s not “Miss New World Order”. Not yet anyway.

India has many skin tones. The fair-skinned northerers are from the Aryan stock, while the southerners are from the Dravidian stock. The Brits had little to do with the makeup of India...other than rape and pillage the civilization. When the Brits showed up, India had 27% of the world GDP. When the Brits left, India's GDP was under 2%. The entire British empire was built by squandering India's wealth and destroying their culture.

Agreed, average looks. I too have friends and coworkers I consider more attractive than she appears to be. Heck, even the missus, literally old enough to be this young lady’s mother (we have kids older than her) looks that good made up and ready to go out on those few occasions we can afford a big night out.
