I don’t know when you grew up, but I’m guessing you weren’t paying attention. There has always been true evil and there a many obvious times in our past that evil was far more overt then it is today.
Sorry, but what I said was due to my own personal experience, and not from lack of observation around that experience. It is also from recollection of notice provided of things that were not in my direct experience. I am sure there were examples of real evil that existed years ago. They didn’t enter my field of experience.
But today, in the last thirty years, I have seen far too many things I have attributed to what I think is a form of evil, I call devolution (persons who behavior wise seem be showing evolution in reverse) and people who seem to epitomize true evil.
