NFL announces ‘no change’ in national-anthem policy in face of Veterans Day boycotts

The NFL announced Saturday there has been “no change” in its national-anthem policy despite a Veterans Day campaign to boycott Sunday’s games over the take-a-knee protests.

Boycott the NFL, a Facebook page with more than 227,000 followers, has called on supporters to tune out Sunday’s games “in solidarity with veterans around the country,” while the conservative watchdog group 2ndVote asked fans to “stiff-arm the NFL.”

“We’re sending the National Football League, its corporate sponsors, and the television networks a message this Veterans Day weekend!” said 2ndVote. “Americans are sick of the disrespectful National Anthem protests that the NFL has not only allowed to continue, but has institutionalized in pregame ceremonies.”

About 22,000 people have indicated on Facebook that they plan to turn off the television for games.

2ndVote, which monitors corporate political activity, also launched the hashtag #STANDwithVets.

That graphic nails it better than anything I’ve seen.

That idiot was not only overpaid, he’s costing the NFL millions in lost revenue.

“Almost wish I were still watching so I could quit.”

It is pretty satisfying.

Good for you! I don’t see it around here. People love their packers. And, I think they play the bears this week. They will not give up their packers for anything.

Ron Dayne, Heisman Trophy Winner from Wisconsin.

You know how they say, 'Stupid should hurt?'

In this case, 'Stupid' IS hurting them. And, GOOD! :)

I've got to go put on my Ron Dayne 33 Jersey and get ready for the Badgers kickoff! His son is currently tearing up the turf for Waunakee High School. Impressive! ;)

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

Here's hoping all my fellow vets will take at least one day to ignore the garbage from the NFL thugs who show their hate for all of us each week!

Nobody cares anymore NFL. I used to watch every week and even buy stuff as gifts.

Not any more. I have yard work to do and that is worth more than your insulting “entertainment”.

Buh-Bye Ass-Clowns.

The Rule says ‘should’ not ‘must’. That makes it optional. Not really a rule, just a suggestion.

Decades back, (because he asked me) I had the opportunity to impart to then Chargers' owner, Eugene Klein that he was selling the team at a very good time for a very good price because nothing but heartache and trouble was in store for the NFL in the coming years and that the Chargers would never fill their stadium with season ticket holders for several reasons which I cited; namely the city's demograhics: retirees, military, new residents from other NFL, illegals, all with no loyalty to San Diego. I went on to cite three other pertinent factors which have all come true. Mr. Klein made a great sale to Alex Spanos. LOL.
