I recall Finebaum of espn weeks ago saying his dream matchup in the bcs would be Alabama and The OSU. I like Alabama Clemson rematch myself.

So let me get this straight...Georgia beats an unranked team (South Carolina) and Alabama beats no. 17 LSU, but the Dawgs remain no. 1? Methinks the POB want to see Alabama taken down a notch...for what reason? How did Georgia vault into no.1 last week anyway, seeing that Alabama was still undefeated? I understand strength of schedule, but if you look at the overall schedule (Georgia played Appalachian State & Samford...SAMford!)
Can’t wait to match up with Georgia and put this to bed...Roll Tide!

Agreed. Total joke, no way GA should be ranked over Bama. Just don’t tell my neighbors I said that.

AP and coaches polls both have Alabama first and Georgia second. Alabama got significant votes over Georgia. (54-5; 64-1).

This is new poll “Playoff Selection Committee”, doesn’t revealed how the votes go.

Sorry, but I’ll stick with the two tried and true polls.

Anyway, we’ll all know in the next 4 weeks or so!

Pretty spot on. ‘Bama whiners just need to take a reality pill. AP and coaches polls don’t factor in power rating...which always weighs more with thinking fans than people’s opinions.

More of note are the facts that Georgia and Alabama are likely to play each other in the SEC Championship, likely knocking the loser out. ND already lost to Georgia and Clemson lost to Syracuse.

Corrupt system of rankings. UCF is undefeated, wins on the road against a good SMU team and stays ranked # 18 from the previous week? There are EIGHT 2 loss teams ranked ahead of UCF. 8!

Why is Ohio state ranked at all?

No. The loser of Georgia vs Alabama won’t drop out of the top 4.

The Committee Chairman is claiming Georgia's 1-point win over Notre Dame earlier in the season was the deciding factor.

Kinda ridiculous, but that's why Georgia is ranked ahead of Alabama.

Notre Dame has probably the toughest schedule in the country going up against 6 teams now ranked in the top 25.

If the Dawgs do well against Auburn, then they deserve their number 1 ranking.

Agree.

And if Notre Dame wins out (even though they won't have a conference title game), they'll deserve a spot in the Finals.

Great games coming up this Saturday!

The University of Southern California had a tougher schedule than Notre Dame. The Trojans were given no bye weekends this season and had to play two road games five days apart. All of the teams they have played this year have been worthy opponents—no cream puffs.

Notre Dame got two consecutive bye weekends. Although the Domers have played some tough teams, a couple of their opponents were cream puffs—the Temple Owls and the Miami Redskins.

I count three top 25 teams on the USC schedule this year: Stanford, ND, and WSU.

I stand corrected: Notre Dame’s schedule includes five stop 25 teams: Georgia, Stanford, USC, North Carolina State, Miami of Florida.

When I went to Notre Dame during the Ara P. days, ND had a relatively easy schedule till the last game of the season, usually USC.

I was at the LA collusieum in 1964 when the trojans came from behind to beat the Irish. Great game.

ND has tv monitors on the bench and they would bring the players over and go over information directly from the motors. First time I ever saw that.

USC and ND was always a key rivalry.

I think it was my senior year 73 season when ND was regularly being beat by USC, and they came to South Bend, and a runner named Eric Pennick made a 60-yard off-tackle run to the end zone next to the student section.

It was thrilling. The rivalry heightens the depression or elation.

My ex and her brothers are die hard Irish fans. They’ve been to the games at South Bend a dozen times even from soCal.
