The author addresses the part about underage females in reference to Polanski. Legally 17 year olds qualify, too, but they are old enough to be soliciting a job and career from a Producer and they are well old enough to understand the import of the tales they have heard. They are taking a chance that it won't happen to them. They also accept the rapes once they have occurred because they do not then risk throwing out their chance for wealth and celebrity by going public. Weinstein is not yet accused of raping 13 year olds or 15 year olds.
"One final note: The abuse of minors by Hollywood power brokers is a completely different matter. A 13-year-old girl or boy cannot legally consent to sex with an adult. Roman Polanski’s crime was categorically different from the antics of Harvey Weinstein."
