“THE DEATH OF STALIN”
Nope, but I did see the RESURRECTION OF STALIN yesterday. She was smashing her toe while bitching about Trump, yet again.
Popular subject where you come from?
I don’t think I want to see it but there was a stampede on the day of his funeral, and many were killed. Shades of Nicholas’ coronation day when people stampeded to get the souvenir cups on a field.
Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow.” Galatians 6:7

Stalin, with his senses intact, is now screaming, with his eyes on fire.
According to his daughter, Stalin’s last action while on his deathbed was to sit up, look up and shake his fist toward Heaven. If that doesn’t show that he was in league with the Devil......
my friend sent it to me. good timing since i am teaching a class on the eastern front. the trailer is hilarious.
I had heard that Stalin looked up from his deathbed and saw the gates of Hell swinging open; his eyes filled with fear and he pointed with trembling hand toward the damnation awaiting him, and died.
Hope so, anyway.
Not yet, but it looks funny - I’ll probably give it a shot.
Yes, old Joe's dead and gone.
He stayed around too long.
And nobody now can save his hide,
'Cause old Joe lay right down and died.
--Ray Anderson, 1953
A Georgian kid, Catholic I believe. “Alter Boy”. He had some issues. I just want to watch the movie.
Stalin attended a Russian Orthodox seminary but dropped out. His mother lived to see him gain absolute power in the Soviet Union and become one of the world’s movers and shakers, yet she still considered him a failure because he failed to complete his seminary coursework.
I recall my HS History teacher saying that Papa Joe was kicked out of Seminary. Someone reached for the piece/ loaf of bread by his plate and Stalin stuck a knife through his hand into the table.
Although a quick web search shows that Stalin did throw a knife at his father, in defense of his mother. But nothing about the Seminary. (I like the seminary knifing story better!)
“A Georgian kid, Catholic I believe. Alter Boy. He had some issues.”
That might just be the understatement of the day — and it’s early yet.

Who knows if stories like this are true? It strikes me as a “George Washington/Cherry Tree” type story — probably never happened but gets repeated because it paints the character of the subject perfectly.
Another favorite: If Fidel Castro had a better curveball Cuba might be free today...
Nice ty.
