I won’t get anymore ripe than this; despite wheat women SAY they want, they aren’t sitting around reading romance novels where the guy quietly listens to her instructions, asks exactly how he should proceed, and he carefully follows that.

The romance novel writers are smart. They want to make money. They KNOW a woman wants a strong powerful man, and that is what they give them in their male hero characters! They are called bodice rippers, not bodice questioners!
The novel “Sweetest Man on Campus” didn’t sell copies:
