To be fair, there’s other things affecting football beyond the NFL controversy. NCAA college football attendance has been dropping six years in a row. Empty seats are becoming a feature at all levels of the game.

“And you wont see many fans boycotting those college teams, either.”
I disagree. Reason being that colleges derive a very healthy portion of their income from alumni donations. There will be a very direct and immediate effect if they piss of the donors.
The relationship isn’t so direct with the NFL. Advertising is a huge part of their income, and it takes time for product boycotts and advertising contract expirations to make an impact.

Atlanta’s problem as a sports town is that everyone comes from somewhere else. Nobody there grew up being a Braves or Falcons fan. They either grew up Cubs or Dodgers fans and moved there, or they come from another country where they don’t give a damn about American spectator sports.
Houston is similar; one in four people in Houston were born in another country, and probably two of the other four were born somewhere else and moved to Houston after they reached adulthood. Houston is also a bad pro sports town, but not as bad as Atlanta.

Wait until next year when people dont renew their season ticketsPeople don't typically buy season tickets anymore, they're too expensive, their jobs pay for them.
The next shoe to drop will be all those local commercials and endorsements for players that will dry up when the contract expires. They don't like controversy.

The commissioner Roger Goodell will be fired soon we hope.
New Commissioner must tell the players that they will stand up and put honor their country, flag, and national anthem or they will be suspended for 3 games without pay.
Second time will be suspension of pay and forfeit the entire season.
These crybaby football players have almost destroyed the NFL.
Notice how the right arm of the Rat party has been so silent on the players protesting the flag and the shenanigans of Harvey Weinstein.
The Rat party is in big trouble we hope.

Whether you intended to or not, you made this appear as a net minus for the Dems. I agree. Just like BLM reverberated back to the election loss in 2016. Remember when DJT commented about how weak Bernie was to let those girls take his microphone. This will end up costing Dems and rinos in 2018.

Boy, you touched a raw nerve on this subject of foreign born Americans. We have way too many of these foreign born folks who do not give a hoot about any of our great country, its flag, its national anthem, or any of our state and national traditions.
I am a native born Texas boy and I take a lot of pride in that I am a 5th generation Texan plus I know a lot of history about my great state of Texas. These foreign born folks do not even want to understand anything about our great state of Texas or even our great country. This is so sad and not a pretty picture if we are looking forward.
We can thank our Congress for doing this to us by giving out way too many H1B visas and this is where we are at right now.

Houston is similar; one in four people in Houston were born in another country, and probably two of the other four were born somewhere else and moved to Houston after they reached adulthood. Houston is also infamous for the Mexican soccer team showing up and their fans waved Mexican flags and booed the American team whose fans were outnumbered.

Go burn a couple of thousand dollars in your driveway then comment.
He wasn't a silly ass to spend thousands on a foolish investment like that -- a wise, prudent person, I'd say -- so this FReeper welcomes his comments.

In the Atlanta fans defense. The lower boxes were empty but I hear the upper seats were filled.
The new stadium has this asinine season ticket scam whereas the lower seats are PSL seating - permanent seat license. It gives the owner the right to purchase Falcon season tickets every year for a specific seat. Just a few idiots are actually paying from $500 to $45,000 for these PSL seat. This does NOT include the actual price of the game day ticket.
The scam doesn’t seem to be working

Once people adjust their lives to No Football period, they won't come back. And little by little, basketball will go the same way.
America is Baseball and Golf.

The NFL has sided with the Left, and the Left has always hated football.
This isn’t going to work out for the NFL. Doesn’t matter what they do now. The protests are: 1. based on a lie.
2. Reveal that the players hate most of the fans they play for.
That’s not a recipe for success, but it is certainly one for failure.

The Slum Dog Millionaires of the BLM/NFL are still rolling down hill. Simple laws of physics say you can’t start back up the hill until you stop rolling down the hill. Ha ha ha ha eat crap and bark at the moon you dumb bastards (can’t call them Sons of bitches because hurts their delicate feelings).

Alright, last month Michelle Malkin told us that NFL has a new meaning: No Fans Left. Their ratings are falling like a rock, stadiums are more than half empty, sponsors are running away, and fans are finding other things to do on Sundays. Will the NFL start canceling games now, due to lack of interest?

saw an interview with a guy that used to work for the NFL.... he said if this continues, a 10-15% revenue loss would be extremely damaging...if it gets to 35-40%, the league would collapse....i personally think its past a tipping point, that the league is toast. Last week showed a collapse in the way the league is viewed. Just awesome!! So called “stars” are being injured left and right...both NY teams suck...a President that isn’t afraid to speak the truth...this is a perfect storm brewing.
