Report: Kaepernick files grievance against NFL owners for collusion

Colin Kaepernick has filed a grievance under the collective bargaining agreement for collusion against NFL team owners, reports Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report.

Kaepernick has hired high-profile attorney Mark Geragos and is preparing to release a statement about his grievance soon, added Freeman.

The free-agent quarterback has remained unemployed since his release by the San Francisco 49ers in March and has garnered little interest from teams around the league. This has caused some to suggest he's being blackballed for his national anthem protests during the 2016 season.

It wasn’t a strategy based on the NFL’s bottom line. It was based on the limitations of the NFL’s labor agreement and the realities of Federal labor law.

“If he takes the field and gets injured I might start watching the NFL again.”

So he can sue his offensive line then.

Re: “He is a 2-14 qb. That’s all the nfl has to say.”

Actually, he was 1-10 in the eleven games he started last year.

His QB Rating was a remarkable 90.7 last year, which is quite impressive since San Francisco was a terrible team.

On the other hand, his lifetime pass completion stat is actually below 60%, which is not healthy.

If I was a team owner or executive, I would offer the guy $5-$6 million for one year, just to see what happens.

He’ll have about as much luck with that as Michael Sam.

Re: “How does Mark Geragos explain Kaepernick’s refusal to accept the offer the San Francisco 49ers gave him for 2017?

Good question.

Kaepernick deliberately became a free agent in 2017. His 49er contract was so complex I have no idea what he was scheduled to get paid. But it paid more than he's getting today!

The NFL attorney is definitely going to ask Kaepernick that question in court.

doesn't take collusions to know they don't want an America hating drama queen on their team

Teams are simply concerned about their bottom line: making money.

The NFL is an entertainment product. Any team which singed Kaepernick would lose both fans and revenue.

It's strictly a business decision.

If Colin Kaepernick chooses to voluntarily angage in behavior which alienates fans, nobody is required to hire his radioactive ass.

Does Kaepernick think we live in a communist country or something?

Kaepernick is free to do what he wants, and 32 NFL owners are free not to hire his money-losing butt...

I hope he wins. I don’t give a rats a** about the NFL and hope ultimately a suit like this breaks apart the whole league.

No more "collusion" than when they pass over every other half-azzd QB wannabe. This particular turd is luckier than most, the diversity BS got him a chance when people more qualified than he is were passed over (collusion against those who didn't get the slot he once had).

There's no basis for any crap a dodo bird like this guy blabbers about discrimination or collusion since the entire NFL is based on discrimination against those who are nearly as good, often as good on paper, as the players actually signed.

The solution for the NFL is becoming apparent: Roger Goodell should step aside and name Colon Kaepernick as NFL Commissioner for life! Could Kaepernick do any worse job than Goodell? BTW, isn't colon what we call the large intestine?

As for me and my house: we are through with the NFL and the NFL has declared that it is through with me!

Just got this email....There’s a picture of a Chicago Police Department vehicle. The caption reads, “BREAKING NEWS: The Chicago Police Department has replaced all sirens with the national anthem to force all suspects to stop running and take a knee.”
