Even before Saturday’s huge slate of games had begun to commence, we knew college football Week 7 was offering something unique. It started Friday night when both Syracuse and Cal knocked off Clemson and Washington State, respectively. That’s the No. 2 and No. 7 teams in the nation saying goodbye to their undefeated records. And let’s be honest, nobody saw either of these upsets coming. Saturday was just as crazy. LSU upset Auburn. Boise State upset San Diego State. Arizona State put Washington down in a stunner almost as big as the Syracuse win over Clemson. Michigan, Miami, Oklahoma, USC and Wisconsin all had close shaves, while teams like Auburn, Navy, Texas Tech lost in painful ways.

Butch Jones and Mike Riley are dead men walking. Talk about Jekyll and Hyde at Death Valley. When is Bret Bielema going to start feeling like a pig on a spigot???

OMG!!! I missed the Sun Devils roasting the Dawgs. Considering how bad UWs non-conference schedule was I am writing them off the list of playoff contenders.

The way things are going if UGA goes undefeated and loses to ‘Bama in a close SEC Championship game I think they will still get a playoff spot.

Well-informed observers of that situation place that question in the past tense.

I heard one well-connected guy on local radio say something about "a mad scientist" in that same context. Wouldn't know what he was getting at though... :)

Top take away should be.... Stop watching sports....the people on the field don’t give a crap if you watch or not... they are not YOUR team.....You dont own them... you are wasting your life watching other people have fun.

Meanwhile I was busy so the only game I watched was Ohio State vs. Nebraska, where the only exciting part was seeing whether Urban Meyer would explode when the opening kickoff was out of bounds again.

I wish I could record a bunch of games and then find out whether they are good games without seeing the score so I know if I should watch or delete.

You can probably add Shark Humper to that list.

Don’t be so sure Georgia will lose to Alabama in Atlanta.

I went to UCF 63, East Carolina 21, game, on Orlando campus at UCF. Things have changed since I went to college. College boys need a haircut, shave, or at least trim the beard. College girls now dress such that, if they lose a few threads they would have a wardrobe malfunction. It was homecoming, so I got to stand at halftime and be recognized. It is probably the last year Coach Scott Frost will be coaching at UCF, since he’s been successful, some major football college will give him several million dollars to coach their team. Wouldn’t it be neat if UCF hired the fired Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze. Then Frost would be replaced by Freeze.

Good to see LSU get a win. Go Coach Ed!

As for Washington and Washington State, I guess they aren’t as good as thought.

But Clemson losing to a five-hundred Syracuse? What the heck? That loss could cost their program millions if they don’t get in the playoff. Maybe the Tigers are not as good as thought either.

As much as I hate moralizing sermons from the pansies on the left, I hate them even more coming from the right. Here’s the deal...If i want to watch and enjoy college football, I’ll watch and enjoy college football.

You missed your calling. You sound like a finger-wagging liberal.

And you know the Gators have fallen when Beth Mowins is now announcing their games on ESPN.

UGA has had an easy schedule. The SEC east is not that strong. I am a Ga. fan and did go to school there. I just do not see 2 teams from the SEC in the 4 team playoff. I predict that UGA goes undefeated till they play Bama in the Conference game. Bama will be a 7 point favorite. I hope Ga. wins. Oh yeah, I lived in Russell Hall and other parts of Athens.

The Gators sure won’t provide any opposition. I actually hope UGA kills us and puts Shark Humper out of our misery.
