In the 1967 film made from Truman Capote's In Cold Blood, the actors, Robert Blake as Perry Smith and Scott Wilson as Dick Hickock bear a striking resemblance to the actual killers they portray.

I agree, they did resemble the real killers.
When I lived in Western, KS, I was only a few hundred yards from the Clutter families graves.
