Outrunning the cops in a 1963 rambler classic with an inline six was exhilarating. (1971)
Causing a guy in a 1966 GTO with drag slicks to run his car off the road and embed it in an embankment was fun.
Causing a carload of thugs to run off the road, over a curb, stop sign, and parking lot concrete barriers was fun.
The above two was when being chased in a 1972 Vega GT.
Now I drive a Scion FR-S 150 miles every day on my commute, 2/3 of which is on back road twisties where there are no cops but the occasional deer, and I do it on Michelin PSS’s which in essence puts the car on rails. I’ve put 132,000 miles on the car doing that. I have yet to replace the brakes or spark plugs.
I love my commute every day. And I’ve collected some awesome dash cam footage of animals and crashes.
The car chase sounds like a helluva story.
As for you Daily Driver, that car is a fun rocket. I have given though to acquiring one (including the Subaru-badged version). Your commute is a heckuva lock longer and more exciting than mine. Kudos to ya.
