I know, what’s with the hats? They all wear the hats. Johnny Cash rarely wore a hat, Willie Nelson rarely wears a hat, George Jones..I can’t ever remember that guy wearing a hat, yet these “country singers” today got the damn things glued to their heads 24/7.
I do not know.
It is the key indicator that I am a country music singer.
Not that the music that they sing is country, or even good, or that they are patriots or anything like that.
Just the big, stupid hat.
Give me Marty Robbins, Conway Twitty, Glen Campbell, Ronnie Milsap. I cannot stand modern “country music”.
What passes for “Country” today needs more Alan Jackson’s Where Were You”, Charlie Daniels’ Band’s “This Ain’t No Rag, It’s a Flag.” Lee Greenwood “God Bless the USA” and less of this Tractor Rap Poser music that they pass off today to the Tatted up millennial masses of Low-T/Emo listeners.
