If you have recordings from widely seperated positions you can compare relative time of arrival of the reports and determine whether they were from a single point or multiple points.

You have that with the misc cell phone recordings. But I imagine they would have to be recording during the same time frame, which is probably nigh on impossible to compare and determine.
