and get this, a black, replacement QB (EJ Manuel) comes into the game for the Raiders and proceeds to complete pass after pass while enjoying pretty good protection from that same O-Line

EJ Manuel was 11 for 17 for 106 yards, no TD and an interception. Before his injury Carr was 10 for 18 for 143 yards and a TD. Carr was sacked twice and Emanuel once. Looks to me like there wasn't much difference in protection

Yes, the stats don’t look that different, but watching the game, the protection was better - the whole offense looked better. Keep in mind EJ Manuel is a backup who hasn’t played much in 3 years and wasn’t that good when he did play. Just my observation, though.
