Yep! I'm heading out to see my son at WIU this weekend, one of the girls on the other side of the floor he lives on has a Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pig as an "emotional support animal" -- I'm sorry but what a crock!
She happened to go to high school with my son and I know who she is. Her family lives in the same subdivision as I do. The girl's a spoiled rotten brat. She doesn't need an "emotional support animal" ... she needs her arse kicked to grow up.
I also just read Illinois' Service Animal law/guidelines and as stated elsewhere on this thread by someone else, there is no certification, permit required, limitations of any kind, nor can a store owner even ask for ID for the dog as a service dog or ask what the disability is that the service dog "supports."
In fact, according to the information on the information on the Illinois Attorney General's Website it's a violation of the ADA to even ASK!
Talk about a "system" that's rife for abuse.
