You can expect a lot of replies. Not all will answer your question.

Wasn’t a big deal at State Farm with my 1929...you just have to agree on a value (they pretty much took my word for it).

Contact your insurance agent. There are rates for classic cars

I use Hagerty for my cars. They’re good people.

You want what’s called “agreed value” insurance. Otherwise, it’s just a used car and any 1979 would have a book value of zero or so. There are a number of vendors. I am using American Banker’s Association on my Studebaker.

I suggest you join a car club in your area that specializes in the type car you are interested in. They are a great source for just about anything car related.

State Farm has worked well for us, but think your other cars must also be insured with them also.Yes Value based but never been a problem,

For a classic, Hagerty. Alternately, Continental.

Hagerty has worked well for me. Declared value, they require locked storage. It’s less expensive than normal insurance because they assume limited milage, but not sure it’s a requirement. 67 GTO

Are rates outrageous?

My 1969 chevy blazer is almost done. Full body off restoration. I can’t wait to see the thing.

Hagerty is good for classics, but you need to check on the annual mileage limits and other restrictions. Same goes with any other speciality insurance.

Have used Hagerty’s and American Collector’s. Both are good. Shop around - rates and policies can vary a LOT.

No collision with my insurance company. But my ‘tique is a daily driver.

From what I read about Hagerty, you have to agree not to drive the car daily, so I opted away from them.

Depends on where you are and how much mileage you put on

Call your agent

Gonna try American Collectors if Haggerty doesn’t get it in gear.

I haven’t done my homework yet. My State Farm agent said they have classic car insurance. Im not gonna go with them until I’ve checked other carriers to see what they offer and how their rates differ.
