Vanity: NFL stadiums and their crowds
Sunday, September 24, 2017 | Me

These NFL shove-in-your-face protests are getting out of hand and quite childish just to prove their point. Personally, I think most NFL players are doing this just because it's "cool" and a photo-op, ooh how trendy. Just when you think it couldn't get worse, along comes Terry Bradshaw shoving his opinion on the matter in support of their protest, and that's the straw that broke the camel's back for me to watch NFL anymore. I thought the point of NFL commentators wasn't to express their own political beliefs! It must be nice knowing NFL players and sports commentators get paid millions while enforcing their views, heck if I had an opinion at the job that I'm working at then I'd be fired for not following protocol. It is nice however that we have the right to tune them out, a la protest their "views" and not attend their games or buy their merchandise.

The reason for this post is I'm trying to find a link, set of links, or pictures to see how many people showed up to today's NFL games in protest to certain NFL players acting the way they are. If last week's 49ers game wasn't enough for proof that people are tuning them out and not attending their games, then I'm curious how many more empty stadiums will there be in the weeks to come after today's embarrassment in the world of sports.

Whatever happened to leaders who actually had a pair of balls? I am so sick of this crap. If you hate being in America, leave and go to some place better like Saudi Arabia or Iran or Afghanistan.

This is Obama’s legacy. Racial divide, unbridled hatred by a populace which cannot even articulate effectively why they hate, and smoldering violence.

Thanks...

Love your name, but it’s an oxymoron. How can you think from “No Self”?

You just are.... One with everything.

I was thumbing through the channels and saw a few seconds of the Giant/Eagles game. About a third of the seats were empty in the 4th Quarter.

Giants at Eagles and the place is not packed. That would have been unthinkable as recently as two years ago.

If you’re an Eagles fan and you can’t get to the stadium to see them take on the Giants on a beautiful afternoon, you are no longer an Eagles fan.

Just think of all the regular Joes who’ve dared expressed their opinions on Fascist Book and gotten fired the next day...

BS. Improper etiquette during the National Anthem.

Now that I’ve thought about it, you’re right.

The gist of ALL of this is to get sports teams to STOP playing our National Anthem at sporting events.

Kinda sad that we’ll hear people singing, ‘Oh, Canada’ long after America’s National Anthem is banned from all public venues! :(

When WAS the last time you heard school kids recite, ‘The Pledge of Allegiance?’

All by design, Comrade. All. By. Design.

As a former cheesehead, I love the Packers. However I did not like these comments from Murphy.

http://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2017/09/23/packers-wr-davante-adams-reacts-donald-trumps-remarks/696462001/

GREEN BAY – The NFL and its players reacted to criticism from President Donald Trump, who encouraged team owners Friday night to “fire” any of their athletes who protest during the playing of the national anthem.

Green Bay Packers President /CEO Mark Murphy issued a statement Saturday offering support for “any of our players who choose to peacefully express themselves with the hope of change for the good.”

The full statement from Murphy:

“It’s unfortunate that the President decided to use his immense platform to make divisive and offensive statements about our players and the NFL. We strongly believe that players are leaders in our communities and positive influences. They have achieved their positions through tremendous work and dedication and should be celebrated for their success and positive impact.

“We believe it is important to support any of our players who choose to peacefully express themselves with the hope of change for good. As Americans, we are fortunate to be able to speak openly and freely.”

Packers wide receiver Davante Adams and tight end Martellus Bennett were among the players who took to Twitter in response to Trump’s remarks.

Curious, Solidarity to what?

Do they normally link arms...in past games didn’t they put hand over hearts during anthem?

Tweeted Goodell that the NFL needs us, but America and those who lover her can thrive w/o the NFL.

You win. I give up. The Social Justice Warriors have officially RUINED everything I care about in life.

So, what’s the plan now, Stanley?

A pretty easy way to see the decline in fan interest is to look at after market ticket prices on Stubhub. You can find tickets in some stadiums for under $20 weeks before the game. That is half or less face value.

Hey, sorry, I cannot change facts. I was very disappointed in Murphy comments too!

That said, I read President Trump is OK with linked arms...

http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/24/politics/donald-trump-nfl-sunday-protest-response/

However as some (myself included) would consider the Packers to be “America’s football team,” I wish they had just done what they always do.

What’s the plan? Some shareholders are contacting Murphy to state that he does not speak for them and should not be for the team. Some folks are buying Steeler #78 jerseys.

To me, this disrespect of our Flag, our Country and our President needs to stop—it is more important than football.

BTW, the whining kneelers pulled their stunt on National Gold Star Families Day...Double dis!!

Last week 6 players took a knee. Yesterday the estimate was 150, and a lot more who didn’t take the field or who linked arms or showed solidarity in other ways. Had the President not brought this up then we wouldn’t be talking about the protests.
