There has been a clandestine campaign to eventually eliminate the American version of football as a spectator sport, by subtle and some not so subtle allegations that participation in the sport is extremely hazardous to your health as a player with repeated concussion injuries and the cumulative effect over time, vastly shortening lives and resulting in manifestations of mental impairment.
