"Instead, he went on to do a lot of movies, but they were mostly B-grade, often straight to video throwaways"

Didn't Rutger play the evil industrialist at Wayne Enterprises in the "Batman Returns" movie? I think he's also played other character roles in successful Hollywood flicks. But, I agree with your basic premise - he never did anything afterwards to live up to his performance in Blade Runner. He stole ever scene he was in and you couldn't take your "eyes" off of him. "You wouldn't believe what I've seen with your eyes."

"Alien movie was a fresh take on interesting concepts- in this case, an incredible biology that was great and now much copied for sci fi fans. The sequal was just a dumb big-budget dime-a-dozen fight fest."

I don't know. I think Bill Paxton's performance in Aliens rose it up a level. He was the best actor in either of them and certainly created the most memorable character in either of them. "Game over, man"

Reading the comments, some were also speculating that Deckard was a more advanced model of replicant. Why? While not stronger, he apparently lived longer and was more cleaver than Batty & crew. But who knows?

Like I said, I never even heard anyone suggest that Deckard might be replicant until 2+ decades after the original came out.

I can’t imagine the film without the narration. It would be a totally different film without it.

The 2nd Godfather is believed by some to be the equal or even superior to its predecessor.
