Your identity, gun rights, voting rights, income tax returns, credit cards an the Equifax breach.

So I've been following the Equafax debacle like most.

Now we've learned that 143 million people's identity have been irreversibly compromised thanks to Equafax's nonexistent security.

Now most people are worried about their precious credit cards. But the bigger nightmare is your pedigree info. Name, D.O.B, SSN, addresses, etc...

This is the potential nightmare info from your IRS activity, work history and even your ability to buy own and carry a gun and vote!

Imagine someone, illegal or not gets your info, memorized it and then gets arrested for a felony. Imagine they even plead guilty in court to it, perhaps to escape jail time because you, like me have never been arrested for anything. So it's a first offense. Then the guy or gal using your ID simply walks away.

Now you are a convicted felon of a crime you didn't do and very soon you'll have an outstanding warrant for probation violation, because the one who stole and used your ID obviously isn't going to report for felony probation.

Now you try to by a gun one day or renew your carry permit or perhaps you just drive up upon a holiday DUI check point and now you're in handcuffs.

Or you go to vote in the next election only to find you already voted. Imagine if 10% of all those IDs stolen actually voted in the next election for the opposition?

This thing is way bigger than credit cards...

We are both part of this 143 million people. Never had anything to do with Equafax. What a nightmare.

Questions continue to be raised about the arbitration clause and class action waiver language that was originally in the terms of use for the free credit file monitoring and identity theft protection products that we are offering called TrustedID Premier. We have removed that language from the TrustedID Premier Terms of Use and it will not apply to the free products offered in response to the cybersecurity incident or for claims related to the cybersecurity incident itself. The arbitration language will not apply to any consumer who signed up before the language was removed.

This info is per Equifax. I'm not saying to believe them, I'm just posting their supposed revised position.

And these friggin’ gummint donkeys want us to give up using CASH and conduct all our transactions with electronic funds? Say WHAT?!?

I’ll give up using CASH when they agree to pay me $5 million dollars, tax free, per year, for life, (in case of course if I suffer just ONE data breach or identity theft. ONE!

My understanding is if you sign up for the one year Equifax protection, after the first year you are automatically continued for a nice fee. You have to remember to discontinue to avoid the fee. Also Equifax owns the protection service. How convenient?

I'm just going by info they are posting on their website, but it doesn't appear (if they can be believed) that they automatically keep you going with (and charge you for) their protection service.

3) Clarification Regarding Automatic Sign-Up to TrustedID Premier

We are not requesting consumers’ credit card information when they sign up for the free credit file monitoring and identity theft protection we are offering to all U.S. consumers. Consumers who sign up for TrustedID Premier will not be automatically enrolled or charged after the conclusion of the complimentary year of TrustedID Premier.

Please believe me, I'm not defending them. Just trying to get as much accurate information as possible.
