One nice thing about the Syrian Army overrunning an ISIS stronghold is that no ISIS folks from that stronghold will ever make trouble again. The Syrian army’s prisoners, the few that are taken, do not survive long enough to be rescued or released. No IS fighters taken on the battlefield should live longer than necessary to obtain intelligence from them.

Neocons on FR told me that the Syrian Army helps ISIS and doesn’t fight them.

Where are the neocons now?

During the long siege, high-altitude air drops supplied the city.

Dropped by whom, and supplying whom in the end?

The Syrian general in charge of the defense of DEZ has grown in reputation to mythical hero. He fought these last five years on the front lines with his men, and kept morale intensely high.
