Gary Numan: How Trump’s ‘Stupidity’ on Climate Change Became My Twisted Inspiration
Daily Beast ^ | September 4, 2017 | Gary Numan

Usually when I write songs, I use whatever recent turmoil there has been in my life as the source of inspiration. I’m the first to admit I have no talent for happy or uplifting songs, but I can turn out tunes to darker things with little problem. Luckily, or unluckily perhaps, life seems to throw more than enough rubbish in my direction for me to be rather prolific in these dark arts. So, it was quite a surprise to find, when it came time to start work on my new album Savage, that I had no turmoil to call upon. As a fairly recent immigrant arrival to California from the distant damp of England, life was actually rather good. So, what to do?

As a Generation Xer what a blast from the past. I did not even know this dude was still around. At least in the states he was a one hit wonder with "Cars".

Science uses the scientific method.

Climate “science” uses computer models.

Computer models do not use the scientific method.

Any questions?

News flash Gary: People buy music because they like it not because you are kissing up to their political beliefs.

I’m amazed that so many rich people are fixated on Global Warming.

Cars was a huge hit but lame as hell. I heard it a few weeks ago on 70’s xm. Turned it off about 30 seconds in. It’s irritating.

What a stupid dweeb. The embodiment of Mr. Bean for real. He envisioned Earth blazing hot. Earth can’t change temps at will. The Sun governs Earth’s temp. It spins through a sea of COLD in its orbit. Without Sol, we’d freeze. God’s promise, to Noah after the flood, still stands. Read Genesis chapter 8, especially verse 22. One of God’s promises to Noah, to his progeny, and to us and OUR progeny.

Are “Friends” Electric? It WOULD explain the bad acting/lack of acting by Joey, Pheobe and Monica. (I think Ross was TRYING to act like that, for some reason.)

Oh yeah - Tubeway Army, from my childhood. Good to know he's still alive and kicking. Apparently he's got some random uninformed opinion about global warming, which is nice, but it's just good to know that every musician I listened to in my boyhood isn't dead yet. RIP Walter Becker.

You are right, in that the surface of the Earth would quickly turn into an iceball.

But actually, the core of the Earth isn’t warm because of the Sun. It would take a slight amount of time for the Earth to freeze. The Earth is essentially a dirty bomb; The intense heat of its core makes Uranium and other radioactive substances react hotter, which in turn keeps it hot. The interior of the planet is thousands of degrees; the slight difference between 0 degrees and 300 degrees wouldn’t make much of a factor next to the thousands of degrees the Earth heats itself up to, for a very long time. And without convection, those 300 degrees would radiate their heat very slowly indeed.

He’s got lots of mental issues, but at least his views on England are probably on target.
