Who knows what's going on, but from here it seems like the problem is a clash of egos - Bannon tried to portray himself as a power-broker in the administration, and Trump didn't appreciate it. Factor that in with the establishment generals populating Trump's administration who can't stand the thought of an outsider like Bannon having any say and we get Bannon forced out, with Kelly and McMaster in charge.

Let's see what happens - I know I'm more on-board with what I've heard of Bannon's positions than I am with Pentagon political correctness, but Trump is the president, not McMaster or Kelly.

When Bannon said that we have no military solution in NK his fate was sealed. The message was "fire and fury" and "locked and loaded" and our generals had moved heaven and earth to move forces into Westpac to back that up. It's like Don Corleone said in Godfather 1 - you keep it in the family.

Maybe nuclear deterrence isn't his thing. It's almost no one's thing. But if you don't want to read the books watch the movie and learn to keep your yap shut.

It was the dumbest thing I have ever heard a smart guy say.

Nicely done and well reasoned.
