Look again!
Many of those advocating and acting to take down history are Republican governors and Republican politicians.
Maybe they are being duped by the Left, but they are yelling just as loudly that the statues must come down, that the buildings must be renamed, that the honor plaques must be removed, etc.
This may have been a Left v Right issue at one time, but the advocates have brought it to the mainstream and both major political parties are doing their part in this new Grand Cleansing.

When are we going to ask the Franklin Deleanor Roosevelt memorial in Washington DC be demolished because FDR put Japanese in prison camps... Didn't Roosevelt also reject Jewish refugees attempting to escape Germany?
ALL statues, libraries, schools, and Streets named "Roosevelt" renamed or destroyed. Anyone who disagrees with me is an antisemite and a hater who probably wants to own slaves. I want Schumer to apologize to the country for this evil man's deeds.

Yes, I believe the ocean liner S.S. St. Louis, loaded with Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Germany was turned away during the FDR administration.
It was only 900 refugees.
