Glamour Article Patronizes Conservative Women

The biggest, and most telling, example of this is Leach’s realization that one reason many conservative women don’t identify as “feminist” is because of “what they perceive to be the left’s ‘victimhood culture.’” Leach is beside herself.

“There wasn't any conversation about or acknowledgement of the ways it’s hard” for women to “chase their goals,” Leach complains. These women were ignoring the “harsh realities of being a woman!” Leach then spends a long paragraph telling us what these “harsh realities” are: wage gaps, cyberbullying, more wage gaps, Donald Trump. How could these women, who say they care about women’s equality, not devote time and energy to discussing the roadblocks to women’s achievement, Leach seems to be asking.

Why were these women “so hesitant to talk about the ways women have, historically, been dealt a tougher hand”? Leach wonders. “Perhaps the seemingly daily barrage of stats weren’t on their radar?” In other words, they just must not know what Leach (and all the other enlightened liberals) knows.

Interesting Piece.

Thank You for posting Yldstrk.

I still think the women of my generation (millennials) will be far more conservative than what people give them credit for.

I am happy to help :)

The leftists think Melania wearing heels is absolutely horrifying, yet fall over themselves praising the "empowered" women wearing hijabs.

I still can't comprehend it.

I’ve never had ANY problem setting goals and ‘chasing’ after them. It wasn’t, ‘hard.’

Women need to Man Up, LOL!

“[No Pearls!] What is this sorcery! It’s as if she set out to meet the natives of some benighted country and wants us to know that, actually, they’re not so different from the rest of us!”

LOL!

“...maybe these [Conservative] women are well aware of their history, but dedicated to overcoming it, NOT complaining about it. Perhaps they choose to focus on the amazing successes of women and the unparalleled equality they have achieved in our country.”

Yep! :)

My favorite conservative woman on YouTube is this:

Blonde (her name)

Intelligent, anti feminist. Went to Missouri State and has an excellent video on that experience.

There are many others, Lauren Southern for example. YouTube will suggest theme to you.

And if we are at this point, that’s a good thing, isn’t it?

Somebody told me there is residual sexism, residual racism, and that I just don’t understand because I’m a white man. OK, I will admit to being a white man, and not having walked in the shoes of others.

But it seems to me, that if there is residual discrimination, that the worst of the rampant discrimination of the past is long gone. And that there have never been greater opportunities in this country for women or people of any ethnic/racial minority.

Reminds me a bit of how the media cover anniversaries of major events related to discrimination, such as the anniversary of Brown vs. Board of Education, or the anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. They talk of how far we have come, but always have someone discussing how far we still have to go.

How far we still have to go to achieve true equality is never quite defined. But there’s always someone discussing that in spite of great progress, we still aren’t “there” yet.

Which makes me wonder, that to the liberals, will we ever be able to say we have achieve true equality of opportunity, and can put all the racism/sexism business to bed???

Oh, those poor snowflakes.

Forced to conform to a difficult standard in order to beg crumbs from the table? Man, that is just harshing all over your mellow...

Not that ANYTHING would ever get this sort of victim to “mellow”.

I don’t think it patronized. I read the article and it seemed to be genuine.

“so hesitant to talk about the ways women have, historically, been dealt a tougher hand”?

Because it is history and dwelling on it does nothing to help right now.

Past injustices are like the stench of cooked cabbage. They tend to linger and spoil what you are cooking right now if you don't open the windows and let them go.

That is what is wrong with most of the world. A disinclination to let the past go.

It did not happen to you. It probably did not happen to your mother either.

Let. It. Go.
