Michelle Obama's burden ... and ours
Philadelphia Tribune ^ | 8/3/2017 | Clarenc ePage

Remember how some people used to talk about President Barack Obama’s rise as “post-racial?” With bracing candor, Michelle Obama has begun to open up about how post-racial her White House life wasn’t.

In an appearance at the Women’s Foundation of Colorado in Denver, the former first lady, who memorably advised Democrats “when they go low, we go high,” offered a painful glimpse of how low the insults could go — and how it felt to be on the receiving end.(snip)

“The shards that cut me the deepest were the ones that intended to cut,” she said, according to the Post. “Knowing that after eight years of working really hard for this country, there are still people who won’t see me for what I am because of my skin color.”

Sad, but true. Along with the privileges of the presidency comes a breathtaking burden on presidential families. But so far, only one first family has had the added burden of being African American and facing the prejudices and cheap shots that come with it.(snip)

Yet, despite the many outrages against her and her family, the former first lady remained resolutely upbeat about this nation as a land of opportunity.

“Women, we endure those cuts in so many ways that we don’t even notice we’re cut,” she said. “We are living with small tiny cuts, and we are bleeding every single day. And we’re still getting up.”

“The people in this country are universally good and kind and honest and decent,” she said. “Don’t be afraid of the country you live in. The folks here are good.”

Indeed, most of us are, even if some of us still need to learn a few things — like better manners.

Her real problem is that people see her for exactly what she is, a grasping, entitled, America hating, race baiter who cherishes the victim role like her mother’s milk.

I am so glad the Obamas are out of the White House.

Now, if only they would just shut up and go away.

I am sorry Michelle feels “cut by shards” but a First Lady has a duty to let things roll off her back.

She’s complaining about the price of being a public servant. It’s despicable. Why she thinks she should have been exempt from negative comments (because she’s black?) is the amazing takeaway here.

And that goes double for Trump!

Only seven months out of the WH, and they’re already starting to try to rewrite history about her. Trying to make people think their eyes and ears lied to them for eight years.

That this woman, who had every break in the book, insists on portraying herself as a poor victim is an insult to the real victims in our country: those who were kicked off their medical insurance because of Obamacare, those who lost jobs because of Obama’s rotten economy, children who went hungry at school because of her meddling in school lunches when she had no business meddling, and all those who watched our culture sink into the cesspool during the Obama reign.

The whinny bitch has no one to blame but herself as she “suffers” the consequence of having the grave misfortune to have lived the 8 year life that most Americans will never enjoy. She needs just go away, perhaps back to Africa to visit her in-laws for starters, but on her own money this time, not ours.

I judge her on the content of her character, not the color of her skin.

Sorry Michelle, but go back to the drawing board and poll testing panel and come up with some other tactic to try to rewrite your legacy. This one is a FAIL-

We knew her background. She got ridiculous praise from most of the MSM. Lots of snark here on FR and a few other sites no doubt. Is that is what she is alluding to? My two big criticisms are too many assistants and vacations. Her look never bothered me. Her whiney socialism did though. I see it’s continuing.

From Princeton to Harvard Law to a no-show job at the U of Chicago hospital making $300K a year to FLOTUS. Yes, she's a victim dammit!

Her thesis at Princeton, a university that her mediocre grades in HS would have never accepted if she where a white female, was a screed about disadvantaged blacks in America. A British journalist, I believe Hitchens, read it and described it as ‘turgid’.

How long are the media going to keep this self-serving non-story simmering? I think 9/11 got less press than the First Wookie’s hurt feelings.

Gee, she was really happy here.....in Morocco's palace. Look at that smile.

That's b/c Obama gave her 100 million tax dollars "to teach Muslim girls in Morocco."

But wait---the 100 million is kept by the US-based Obama Foundation....to be doled out "as needed."

(waiting for hysterical laughter to die down)

Yes. I remember reaading a comment from her right around the 2008 election. ‘I was surprised, with my SAT scores, that I got into Princeton’. And I was thinking ‘Affirmative Action anyone???’ To not even acknowledge her extra benefits from this country, just for being Black, is shameful.

I really am not interested in hearing about this tranny race pimp and entitled “black person” pretending her life has been so horrible.

A horrible life was for all the lobsters that she had in her sight at every meal.
