Given her good looks and vivacious nature, eligible suitors must surely be beating a path to her door.
Yet as Jane, from Sheffield, explains, it has been a struggle: ‘The men out there are delusional. I went out with a guy who lied about his age, saying he was 47 when he was 50, who then had the gall to tell me he wanted a younger woman so he, as he put it, “could breed”.
'After my divorce, I gave up my prime dating years to raise my two girls, expecting that when they left home, I’d have time left. But there has been a shift and now the men aren’t there. Where I live it’s hard to find someone cultured unless they’re eating yoghurt, and the men my age all seem to be — well — more than a little overweight.’

Looks like Im am going to have to start looking for women in their early 40s. Almost all the women over 50 I know are over weight, needy, have a continuous bad disposition, and look like my mother. My mother certainly looks great for her age, but she is 89. I find that for me, it's a buyers market for women in the 55 to 65 age group, but I simply don't like the inventory. I now find that I don't need any woman. I do what the hell I want, when I want, and if I happen to need a little company I make it happen in one phone call. But I'm not buying into anything long-term.
Femminism has destryed everything. Most American women, regardless of age are F'd-up. If I had to do life over again I would marry an east European, perhaps Ukranian. They take much better care of themselves and always seem to have such a great outlook on life.
These are English ladies. There are plenty of wonderful men here in the USA.

The men who might be available for Jane are, if interested in a permanent relationship are either “still single” in which case they have problems like homosexuality or abrasive personalities or they are interested in short term arrangements with younger women or are leftovers that do not fit the category Jane describes. In short she is competing for a financially secure older man and is in line with younger women.
Oh, yeah. Right. If it weren't for that evil, patriarchal indoctrination, we would only look at women our own age. /s

Yes, we all know women never, ever lie about their age. And, why is it "gall" for a man to be honest, that he's looking to marry and have children? Because it's galling to her?
Such self-centeredness and she thinks everybody else has a problem, not her. Good luck in that little video game world in your head, lady, where men march around where and when you want them, just to appeal to you. You are a divorcee with children and a chip on your shoulder. That's a big red flag for a lot of men as it very well should be.

Great - here we go again with a ‘opposite sex crazy/bad/etc.’ and ‘I’m wonderful’. Thread. Very odd people can’t admit we are all imperfect and can love, respect, marry, etc. others who are not ‘perfect’.
Unrealistic expectations and being so full of themselves I believe are TWO of the TOP things which hinder finding a mate.
Now, the men you're hunting are all either slobs, losers, adulterers, or Bill Clinton (who is all three).
