Elon Musk Admits to ‘Unrelenting Stress,’ Says he May Be Bipolar

Being a visionary billionaire and chief executive of three companies at once isn’t all fun and games, Elon Musk tweeted Sunday, describing “unrelenting stress” and suggesting he may be bipolar.

Musk tweeted his replies to a number of questions on Twitter, starting with his response to a tweet that said he had “an amazing life.”

“The reality is great highs, terrible lows and unrelenting stress,” Musk tweeted. “Don’t think people want to hear about the last two.”

When someone else asked if he was bipolar, Musk replied “Yeah,” but then followed up with: “Maybe not medically tho. Dunno. Bad feelings correlate to bad events, so maybe real problem is getting carried away in what I sign up for.”

Musk continued: “If you buy a ticket to hell, it isn’t fair to blame hell ... I’m sure there are better answers than what I do, which is just take the pain and make sure you really care about what you’re doing.”

Medically speaking, bipolar disorder is more than just mood swings, often involving low energy levels, inactivity and inability to think clearly, and should be diagnosed by a psychiatrist.

Sounds like he’s trying to create a crazy eccentric genius meme about himself for public consumption, to counteract the reality that everything he does, every risky venture, is done with somebody else’s money.

No sympathy. Bipolar? Who cares. A thief? Absolutely. That is our money.

A thief steals money. Rightly or wrongly, he was given the money.

Gates wrote that crap BASIC interpreter for the old Altair and was hailed as a genius.

Any half-wit programmer could churn out a BASIC interpreter...
It’s just string handling and a pile of simple sub routines.

Now, a compiler is a different animal and requires a lot more talent...especially if it is a very efficient and fast compiler.

IMO we are saving money by funding Musk.

The good things he is doing with SpaceX would cost many times as much if done by NASA.

It’s a big win for the US.

A private businessman trying to squeeze out every nickle of profit is a lot more efficient than the government!

“Sure enough. This brings out the Musk haters repeating the same thing they say on every Musk thread.”

This is the Musk derangement syndrome by stone age conservatives - as dependable as the liberals’ Trump derangement syndrome. Amazing the level of irrational vitriol just mentioning his name brings out.

The luddite mentality of these “conservatives” undoubtedly explains why there are no high tech companies of any significance created or run by conservatives. And so we have to depend on the liberal Apples, Google, Microsofts, Facebooks, Twitters of the world for our technology.

If we had to rely on these Musk bashers for innovations we’d still be using rotary phones and the slide rule. I’m sorry to say that all the negative connotations of the word “conservative” really apply to these stuck-in-the-mud bashers.

And just as today they use the iphones and Google and laptops that they once derided, in ten years they’ll be driving electric cars. And, I bet anything, this same bunch would have treated Henry Ford’s first car with the same level of disdain.

I feel much better getting this off my chest. Now, flame away!

1 car off the assembly line, 499 thousand promised deliveries within the next year or so and Tesla has never manufactured more than 70,000 car units in year.... And now the mastermind of this folly has just admitted that he’s bipolar. If you think Elon Musk is stressed, just think how stressed the money managers and duped investors of Tesla are feeling right now!

And it all came crashing down.

Agree, except the EV’s. I think this sector (all EV’s) should succeed or fail on its own merit.
