I love tomatoes so much that I would even pick hornworns off by hand. I did that with our gypsy moth caterpillars that were on our crabtrees and ornamental blue spruce this spring. They’re not nearly as disgusting as hornworms, but they are sticky and quick. I drop them into a large plastic Planter’s Peanuts container filled with cold, soapy water. It has a large mouth. They seem to die very quickly.
Tomatoes. I love them!
I try to do things organically or by hand whenever I can, too! I have a pretty strong stomach, but those Hornworms get to me every time. *SHUDDER*
Did anyone notice that I didn’t ask Beau to handle them for me? I get Extra Gardening Points for THAT for sure! :)
