No one uses the word “nymphomaniac” anymore? I wonder why?

I was a senior in high school, and was enjoying the company of a nubile redheaded sophomore as we walked to lunch from gym class. I mentioned that I had heard that many redheads were nympho's, and asked her if she thought she was a nymphomaniac. This was in the early '70's, and "soulless gingers" hadn't been invented yet. But I digress.

She asked me, "What's a nymphomaniac?"

I told her, "A person with an insatiable desire for sex."

She looked at me and said, "Isn't everybody?"

That was an eye-opener for me. Life took on a whole new spectrum of colors and possibilities. All because a redhead.
