Every automobile should be equipped with an alarm - much like the buzzer that reminds you your headlights are on - when you turn the engine off. Retrofits for older models. Before allowing parents to take a newborn out of the maternity hospital - they should be required to prove they have a ‘safe’ vehicle for transporting the child. Sounds like over regulation - but the hyperthermia/auto death of one child is one too many.

NO ! Parents should have a brain. You don't put Christmas lights in the bathtub either.

You can't regulate for every idiot in the world.

That seems to be the prevailing opinion for opposing another safety feature for preventing these types of ‘passengers left in hot vehicles’ incidents.

The best solution offered is the ‘locator tag’ idea - for children and Alzheimer patients. Both wander away and this is a good way to find them.
