Every automobile should be equipped with an alarm

So even though the vast majority of people have no use for such an alarm everyone who buys a new car will have to pay for that alarm.

Even though the vast majority of people that such an alarm would useful to have would never be prompted to action by the alarm, everyone will have to pay for that alarm.

This is the same type of thinking that gave use ObamaCare plans with birth control coverage for Seniors and Single males.

If you think this is a good and useful product, invent it, market it and maybe somebody will buy it.

But for those of us that value freedom please don’t suggest that the government mandate it’s use.

I don’t want to pay another for a product that I will never want or use because some do-gooder thinks that if it “Saves one life it’s worth it”.

You all made me rethink the ‘built-in alarm’ system. It seemed possible - based on the ‘engine, oil, heat, lights’ red alerts already on most dashboards. But as you pointed out - why add another expense unnecessarily?

Since not all auto owners drive children or the elderly with them - perhaps the current phone/GPS systems could be programmed to beep when we arrive at our destinations - with an announcement to “remove passengers’.

Thanks for your comments - I had a hard time logging on - so I went out for a lobster lunch.

God bless
sod
