She is remarkably intuitive about these things.

People shrink from recognizing it because of the horror factor. Leaving a child strapped in to bake to death is beyond most people's imagining.
But it is the perfect way to get rid of that inconvenient child and not go to jail. In fact you will get an outpouring of sympathy from people who will defend your, at best neglectful, at worse murderous, worthless life with the cry that "they have suffered enough."
