Of course on average NFL player salaries are better than MLB and NBA. The big difference is guaranteed, NFL salaries only are if the player got it in the contract, NBA and MLB are in the CBA. Which creates a lot of dead money and the NFL will never sign it. Labor peace is better for salaries than strife, especially in a league where most players are out in under 3 seasons anyway. A half season strike is 1/6 of most players’ careers, does Richard really think anybody wants to miss 1/6 of their career for a couple grand.

Depends on how you look at them. The union caved, that makes it pretty successful for the NFL. Of course the big lesson the NFL learned from that is to move the “beginning” of the season to March. Technically speaking the last CBA negotiations had the longest work stoppage in NFL history, March to the end of July, and the only game that got messed with was the Hall of Fame game.

"players have to be willing to strike,” Sherman said.

Oh Mr. Sherman! From your mouth to God's ear! Tell the players to take all the strike time they need: one, two, three years …

Cowboys are a poor example, being one of the most popular teams in the world their revenue picture is vastly different. The CBA gives the players 47% of the total league revenue, which is plenty.

I really enjoyed the Army/Navy game last year. Really nice players on either side. It was like a step back in time to normal football, normal players, normal fun. And who should show up unexpectedly but President Elect Trump! MAGA! The crowd LOVED it!

The owners should introduce a no contract clause whereby all $180 for players will be doled out equally among all players regardless of playing time and position. They could call it a “return to the values of Democracy”.

Go ahead and strike. I double-dog dare you.

.... a slight breach of etiquette by skipping the triple-dare and going right for the throat!

The big problem for the NFL is that they are losing the kids, and as old fans die off, they aren’t being replaced.

Richard Sherman has peaked in his career.
Now he thinks he can make it with his mouth.
He will be joining “Colon Kapernut the unemployable” if he doesn’t shut up and just play.
People are tired of this crap.

And why would they? Who wants to watch a gaggle of overpaid babies strut around? The same jocks who have always acted like their farts don’t stink.

Strike. Please. Lose what audience you still have.

Same here! I ditched MLB after they went on strike in 94 and haven’t watched them since. I ditched the National Fairy League after Kraperdic and his buddies gave the bird to the USA. Strike please and finish yourselves off you overpaid thugs!!!!
