My border collie girl had to be put down when she was almost 14, will be two years she’s been gone and I still cry. I freaked out once when I saw a BC that looked exactly like her. The owner let me hug her (the dog) and bawled like a baby. We went for coffee after and she let me hold her lead. It was great therapy.

They understand. People think cats are very stand-offish, but they just express things differently. The two we have now are the most affectionate we’ve ever had, and can’t stand to see a lap sitting around empty.
My husband is usually up first in the AM, and if I don’t get up soon after, one of them is in the bedroom patting at my face to get me up and going.

What are tortoise-shell cats?Their markings resemble those on a tortoise. Other than that, they are just plain cats. Mine are very affectionate, but I'm not sure if that's typical of the breed.
