Even men would be well-advised to button the top button when shooting. Hot brass is no fun for anybody. I had a 1911 that liked to throw brass right at my forehead so the ejector needed a tweak to stop that.
Yep. I’m a right-hander that actually shoots best lefty (left eye dominant). Been burned more times than I care to admit shooting a righty gun lefty.
Had .45 brass lodge between my glasses and eyelid once...ouch. It had bounced off the wall in my lane. I moved over to the left a bit after that.
I was shooting a Browning .22 semi auto rifle on the bench when I was about 7yo. It ejects out the bottom. Hot brass hit the bench and went down my back (tucked in shirt) and fused to my skin above the belt line.
