I knew this from all the commercials advertising “addiction treatment at little or no cost to you.”"You" meaning the addict. The "you" paying is the rest of us. I resent being forced to pay for other people's BEHAVIORS. That is why I oppose the legalization of marijuana. When the hard core users have toked themselves into unemployability they'll be toking on MY tax dollars.
Decriminalization is different, with the stipulation that no public funds may be used to support abusers.
