I was thinking that, but the article says that previously, he had “hiked up” the mountain to repelle down, so I guess there is a hiking trail to the top he could walk down.
My bigger question was how did he get down the previous time he tried, when he gave up halfway. I have to think that free-climbing DOWN has to be harder.
