I thought the Tudors sucked. Watched 2 episodes, it was like a soft porn f^ck fest in a British accent.

Game of Thrones is not my genre. But all my kids love it.

Need something to watch? I recommend The Crown.

I saw the Tudors. Didn’t much care for it. Now...Wolf Hall was much better.

Be confused by

I didn’t see the Tudors, I saw the first few seasons of Game of Thrones.

Lost interest in Thrones. In my mind it’s highly overrated. I missed the last season because of lack of interest. The only show I watch now on HBO is Silicon Valley. Westworld was overwrought and boring, and Veep has become too vulgar even for me.

Never saw either. Never wanted to. Do like Miss Fisher’s Mysteries, and Murdoch Mysteries (for the anachronisms) but overall I prefer watching DVD of old shows like Burns and Allen, I love Lucy, Carol Burnette, even Murder She Wrote (Jesssica Fletcher is my favorite serial killer).

To repeat:

If you haven't seen them and are going by what you've heard, well....I'd be glad to hear from you on any other subject...

But not this one :)

I have no opinon on The Tudors, never having watched it. But, Game Of Thrones is an absolute masterpiece, from casting to sets to locations to scripts. It is, however, unfortunately marred from time to time by gratuitous gore and sex. It’s the bane of our age, in nearly everything. Develop blinders, that’s my suggestion. Otherwise you’ll be cut off from just about every entertainment option.

The Tudors was ok.

I really wanted to like Game of Thrones. Watched episode 1 and grew weary of it quickly.

House of Cards is my favorite. I’m enjoying Turn, as well.

So if I understand you correctly, if we haven’t seen either of the shows, you want to hear our opinions on another subject? This is tough, because there are so many other subjects to choose from. I pick.... thinking.... hmmm.... Steve Harvey.

Steve Harvey is an example of the American dream. He came from a poor family with deep religious faith. This gave him the drive combined with his natural intelligence to make it in this world. But all his smarts couldn’t go up against the typical lack of wisdom of the teenager. He messed around and screwed up his college, dropped out.

Then he tried living the bad life, pimping, drugs, but it did not work for him. His love of Gd and wish to do good in the world wouldn’t allow it. He was homeless for many years, and pursued his dream of being a stand up comedian.

Fast forward to now. The guy has about 17 tv shows and is on morning drive in L.A. Radio. I don’t know how he does it all. He works hard and takes care of his kids.

How did I do?

I don't get what you're after here.

The Tudors was okay, but it was no Game of Thrones.

There was nothing in it that was particularly memorable, except maybe how fat the lead actor could make himself and how much he scowled (though he does that in every movie).

The Other Boleyn Girl was a better version of the first part of the story.

Wolf Hall was too dark and moody (somebody or other will probably disagree with that or recommend the 1970s Six Wives of Henry VIII).

The Borgias, though, was awful, at least judging by the little I saw of it.

Outlander. Dr. Blake Mysteries. Two of my favorites that have not been mentioned yet.

If you liked "The Tudors", you'll probably find the "Game of Thrones" right up your alley, but at least a magnitude better than "The Tudors" in every imaginable way.

I tried watching "The Tutors" twice. Didn't finish the first episode the first time and only made it to episode three the second try. OTOH, I have watched all six seasons of TGOT more than once and I have already bought the popcorn for July 16th.
