I was sad to see someone I thought was very funny and a good man when I was young destroyed by events, by his human weakness and by people who want the notoriety.

I don’t know what happened in those rooms with those women, I’ve seen a lot of hoaxes play out & a lot of people preying on other people. So neither scenario would surprise me.

It was a neat little construct that Cosby built for 6 decades: The clean comedian with a moral center, the family man. All a falsehood. Make himself such a beloved figure with America that he could prey on women for decades to satisfy a fetish of having sex with unconscious women (who knows if he ever went full necrophiliac) and if such charges were ever aired, millions of Americans (of all races) would be there to denounce them as “scurrilous” or “impossible !”

As I said, a neat little construct. But there were always little signs here and there if you looked closely (if you wanted to). People that knew him could see cracks in the façade, they knew that he had a dark side. His “I Spy” co-star, Robert Culp, called him the angriest man he ever met. When fame came in the ‘60s, he’d frequent the Playboy Club (somewhat of an odd choice of venue for a family man with a “clean” persona). Well, sure, Sammy Davis, Jr. did the same, but Sammy wasn’t hiding behind a false veneer, he was a known player and loved chasing women.

Sure, a lot of these guys were players, beloved entertainers (Richard Pryor, too). But something about Cosby was different. Even during the time that I was a fan of his, there was something in his soul, something behind the eyes that gave away his secret. Who knows if they’re simply “mother” issues, why he really hates women. Even with our beloved (snort) ex-President Bubba with all of his sick escapades, he liked to catch his prey “live”, with all that entailed. Cos liked his prey “dead.” Channeling his demons into his actions while the girls couldn’t fight back. I don’t know which is a worse violation. Perhaps Cos drugged them because he was ashamed of letting them see the person he is. That he wasn’t man enough to face them while he did that to them awake.

He’s a very sick soul, and even if he never goes to jail, the public can at least see what his real persona is after all these years, right out in the open. His sociopathic wife should similarly share in the blame, because she knows what he’s been doing all these years, but she didn’t want the gravy train of money, power, and celebrity to end.
