Thankfully, I’ve never had to deal with this crap. FR is about the closest I come to social media. I can count my true friends on less than one hand, and they are all of the same political mindset. I’m the last in my family, and rarely see my brother’s family as they live in another part of the state, but talk to them on the phone at least once a month. They are Conservative, so we see eye to eye. My youngest son lives in Indiana with his girlfriend, and I don’t get to see him that often, but keep in touch via email and phone. My oldest son lives about 2/12 hours away from me, and we visit each other regularly, and talk on the phone once a week. We don’t talk politics. They know how I feel, and I know how they feel, and we all respect each others’ views.

I can accept that. What is unacceptable is sitting quietly being lampooned time and again due to your political beliefs (right to own fire arms) and required to sit quietly as they spew their venom for those who do believe they’ve every right to do so. Silent no more means loss of many pen pals and creates a distance between family members. Thank goodness there are dogs who are more tolerant and loving than some humans in society.
