My maltapoo had horrible digestive problems. I switched to homemade rice, chicken, livers and sweet potatoes. The difference is amazing. No more tummy issues and she’s gained a full pound in muscle...no small thing for a pup that was 7 pounds to start with. Her vet is amazed with the transformation. Still doesn’t have an ounce of fat on her.

Congratulations! That's awesome. It's more work to feed them wholesome, homemade food, but it's worth it.

The only problem I've found so far is that I can't go back to the old box, bag and canned food now.

I fully believe that the homemade food I'm making for them is better in every way but convenience, so going back to the old now would be "wrong", so to speak.

They are so much better now as 8 years old dogs on this diet than they were as 5 year olds before I made the switch. It's obvious.

This would have sounded crazy to me before, but these day after their walks, they now get some watermelon, papaya and banana with a little coconut water and some extra water to dilute a bit. They really like it and it's very, very good for them, too.

Fwiw, I was clueless about these things until my dogs' problems began. When my boy failed his liver test, I started looking for answers.

I ended up talking with Rick at this website: doglivershunt.com and started learning a better way. Their emails are very informative, too.

It's amazing to me the difference good food makes in their health, especially with the environmental poisons so common in our/their world that seem to be the likely cause of their problems.

Hopefully my two dogs' good health will continue and they'all avoid the common aging problems that my past dogs have suffered from. So far, so good...

I changed my eating habits to match and feel so much better for it. The arthritis problems that had me moving slowly and begging for prescriptions are rare now.

Life's good. Thank you, Jesus!
