This show is quite a departure. It is vastly imaginative, gory, brutal, iconoclastic, annoying, entertaining, and unlike anything else on TV. Who else has been watching it and what are your opinions?

Mrs al baby i cant stand it so i read frree repulic
Not me. What’s the premisr?
Never heard of it.
I am watching it.
Neil Gaiman. ‘nuff said.
Anansi’s nonsensical rant to the slaves PO’d me a bit, but what do you expect of Anansi?
Tried to watch the first episode, bailed half-way through. Neil Gaimmon OS just not my cup of tea.
Sounds like a show that fits this generation of Americans like a glove. No, I don’t watch it nor have I heard of it.
It has some unnecessarily graphic sex which I don’t care for, but it is a good show and I love the premise (old Gods versus the new Gods, belief, etc).
I’m gonna, but I don’t have Starz. Waiting for the full season. Great book, love the twisted mind of Gaiman.
I have Starz, HBO, Cinemax & Showtime. Almost missed this one. Having a hard time keeping up with all of the good Series!!!!
I hope it is not like Leftovers. Could not figure out for the life of me what that Series is about.
Be patient. Lots of stuff from Starz makes its way to Netflix.
I got through 2-1/3 episodes and could not see it going anywhere.
I don’t watch American TV. It’s all crap.
I’ve been watching it and kinda get it now. I could have done without the episode with all the penis erect pictures but I guess that’s all part of the twisted tale.
Seems to be a world of people living among but under (or maybe over) our world where impossible things are routinely possible but make no sense to the average human who has their sense of what is real cemented in.
I think it helps if the viewer considers the fantastical or impossible as possible like any fantasy/fiction/Sci-Fi they might like or just watch.
I think American Gods is an alternative way of looking at reality if God, Jesus, and the Angels were here on earth but didn’t look anything like what we think they should look like and just like humans; they disappoint and betray each other.
Chances are if they kill each other they come back since they are immortal. Maybe it depends on how they are killed. Not sure yet.
FWIW; I watched the new Alien movie over the weekend and didn’t care for it; especially the ending which I will keep to myself. Then again horror is not my favorite genre.
I tried twice. I like sci-fy stuff. But it seemed like too much to keep track of. I refuse to watch shows that are ruined if you miss an episode. It seemed like there was too much going on. I missed the first few shows so I was lost and didn’t feel like investing in the show. I watched 15 minutes twice.
Viewers beware there’s a very graphic Gay sex scene with 2 Arab dudes in the 2 or 3 show. 10 years ago it would have gotten an X rating. I haven’t watched since.
I watched the first episode. Started watching the second, but couldn’t get into it, and decided it wasn’t anything I’d want to waste any more time on. I figured I’d try it since I like the lead actor Ricky Whittle. I enjoyed his character Lincoln in The 100 until they killed him off. I stopped watching that this year too. I like Ian
McShane, but not enough to sit through the rest of the series.
I guess it's based on a novel of the same name:
"American Gods is a Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel by Neil Gaiman. The novel is a blend of Americana, fantasy, and various strands of ancient and modern mythology, all centering on the mysterious and taciturn Shadow."
The last season of that just finished. It won't be back. I never watched it, but my youngest son did.
