Melania Trump attended the Fords Theatre Annual Gala alongside President Trump in Washington on Sunday.
For the gala, the first lady wore a $2,595 crepe draped gown from Filipino designer Monique Lhuilliers 2017 resort collection.
She paired the glamorous floor-length silk gown, which featured a front knot at the waist and cape back detailing, with Manolo Blahnik pumps also reverting to her signature hairstyle.(snip)
Michelle Obama was often photographed in the luxe label during her time in the White House.

A miss? It’s gorgeous.
All appetite suppressors.
Thanks for your honesty, grania. Michelle does look good in the gown. One in a million women have Melania’s figure and dignity.
What I have yet to hear anyone praise is Melania’s beautiful hands (as seen in the photo on this thread). We are so lucky to have such a woman as our First Lady. She is truly living up to the traditional role-model that name engenders — as opposed to the here’s-my-political-agenda FLOTUS style of Hillary and Michelle.
Wow, thanks for pointing that out. Just wow.
BTW, the dress Melania wore was silk, not “crepe”.
You know, she would’ve worn clown shoes if someone told her that they would make her arm muscles look even better.
“She has no waistline ...”
Generally, men don’t.
This designer’s stuff looked good on Michelle. She should have worn more of her stuff. No boob belts to be found.
Melania makes the dress look beautiful.
Moochelle’s dress could make her/him look beautiful in the least bit.
Melania epitomizes everything a First Lady should be. Warm, gracious, compassionate, and a role model.
Melania could wear a burlap sack and look stunning; Michelle usually looked like she was wearing burlap sacks no matter WHAT she was wearing.
Oops.
Melania makes the dress look beautiful.
Moochelles dress couldn’t make her/him look beautiful in the least bit.
Sorry, typing to fast this morning.
I recall all the gushing over how elegant Michael looked in his various getups even when they were obviously just that-”getups.” Sorry. Michael is built like a male athlete and male athletes cannot make any feminine outfit look “elegant.”
I don’t think I have seen it put quite so well before. I have had amorphous reactions of skepticism and questioning when I have seen Michael in high fashion but never had it come to me in words.
