It’s important to have the facilities almost all in place without having to build new stuff for the Games. That is where the debt piles up. Salt Lake City 2002 had almost everything already in place, and only had to develop a few sites. As a result, the city and state turned a tidy profit. And once the Games were over, those venues continue to operate for public use.

Ahhhhh, but the where will the IOC get all the kickback money from?
