Video has captured the dramatic moment a woman jumped onto the hood of her SUV to stop a carjacking.
Melissa Smith, 28, was pumping gas in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, when two men drove up next to her and attempted to steal her vehicle on Tuesday.
Security camera footage recorded Smith leaping onto the hood and slamming her fists on the windshield in an effort to keep the thief from fleeing.
The man eventually gave up and fled - leaving the car in gear - which forced Smith to jump into her moving vehicle and break it before it crashed.

Many years ago I ran out of gas on a busy South Carolina highway. On the access road, behind the barrier two black guys in a truck said ‘Hold on miss, we’ll get some gas for you”. Sure enough, in a few minutes they drove up with a 5 gallon can. They wouldn’t even let me pay them. That was not an unusual Southern experience for this white woman. The south has some very special brotherly love.
Be assured, there is very likely someone who is either on foot or in another nearby car that is watching for the next victim.
When pumping gas, always take a look around at your surroundings. Note people “hanging out”. Have a plan already in your mind if you approached. The old ruse is to ask what time it is, or “can I get a dollar to get on the bus?” This is a ruse to then snatch your wallet. Understand that if you pursue the offender, they have already decided what they are going to do to you.
Don’t give them the opportunity. Be firm, be polite, but have a plan to deal with them.
You are under no obligation to be meat on the table.
That is pretty funny looking at it from that perspective. If was a boring government office supporting blue collar men working in the field. Sure did learn a lot after leaving seminary a few months earlier, and a parsonage before that.
Is it still broken, or did they fix it?

Glad she’s OK but is a vehicle worth risking your life for ?
This morning in my neck of the woods...
Nope.
I believe it was a Marine.
Seals don’t even talk about it.
This is why Ch 8 WFAA is my last choice in local news LOL
Fox sucks pretty hard too.
Local CBS Ch 11 showed live footage of the blaze and reported over and over that the RV was “Melting”
I kept thing “looks like its on fire to me”
It was our current Secretary of Defense, a Marine.
